Software Engineer (SW1) - New Product Introduction

Job Summary:
We are seeking to recruit a Software Engineer to provide customer-focused instrumentation SW. The role is for an engineer with solid Windows programming experience that can work comfortably at the systems and user interface level. The successful candidate will be involved in all stage of the product lifecycle – Requirements, Analysis, Design, Testing, Release and Support.

  • Able to design effective, intuitive user-interfaces (see Appendix 1 - special interview requirement)
  • Innovative – to be able to create and develop new ideas
  • Good communicator and team player
  • Commercially aware – to understand the needs of customers and short time to market
  • Willing to learn - project management/team leadership potential
  • Ability to work with external development groups

Skills and qualifications required

Essential

  • Graduate with relevant experience
  • Effective GUI design experience
  • Object modelling using UML
  • Delivery to tight project timescales
  • MFC experience
  • Visual C++
  • Experience of ISO9000/TickIT environment
  • SW reliability

Beneficial

  • Experience of RAD tools/techniques
