Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)

The process of method definition can sometimes be complicated for spray systems, especially in situations where rapid measurements need to be correctly synchronised with the atomisation process. To overcome this, the Spraytec software includes an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) wizard that guides users through the process of method definition. This includes:

• SOP Templates: included in the software to provide generic methods that can be used as the basis for new SOPs.
• On-Line Help: available at each stage during the definition of an SOP, providing descriptions of each of the key measurement parameters.
• Measurement Manager: provides feedback to the user during the running of an SOP and ensures the correct measurement sequence is followed.
• Automated Data Analysis: SOPs not only allow for the setting of important measurement parameters but can also be used to automate processes such as data averaging once a measurement has been completed.

SOPs ensure that users follow the same measurement procedure when characterising a given product, improving the measurement reproducibility and ensuring any differences in spray performance can be observed. In addition, SOPs can be emailed between users, allowing methods to be standardized between different laboratories.
