By measuring fundamental dispersion parameters known to affect stability - such as zeta potential, particle size, pH and conductivity, yield stress, the linear viscoelastic region from an amplitude sweep, high frequency G' (storage modulus plateau) and the viscosity, investigators can identify, measure and vary the parameters that determine stability.

When a new product is formulated, one of the biggest consumers of time is the measurement of the stability of the candidate formulations in a variety of conditions. Knowledge of dispersion stability is an extremely important parameter across a wide range of industries including brewing, ceramics, food, pharmaceuticals, surface coatings, mineral processing, consumer products and water treatment.
