Parsum IPP 70-S

Malvern's newest sensor specifically designed to measure larger particles in many processes dealing with granulates, such as the chemical and food product industries, among others.

Real Time Sensor for measuring particles with an average size of 50-6000µm

The probe can be easily installed directly into any gravity or pneumatic process line.

Automatic feedback to central control room or terminal computer.

The sensor can be specifically modified to suit the process and material conditions by means of various accessories such as scavenging cells, a disperser and sampling systems. The IPP 70-S can thus be used in processes in which soiling or wetting of the optical window is likely to occur. It can be used with abrasive, slightly greasy, sticky and adherent particles, under high loads and at high temperatures.
Spatial Filter Velocimetry
Parsum measures particle size distributions using the accepted method of Spatial Filter Velocimetry

Process Interface
The Parsum is inserted directly in the process line so no sampling is needed.

Automation and control

Direct connection to upstream process control systems and monitoring of current production trends.

Solutions
The sensor has been used in a number of applications including the chemical and food industries.

Summary

The IPP 70-S includes an internal compressed air supply system. It is used on specific processes and materials that where dispersion is needed in order to break up agglomerated particles. The IPP 70-S is also suitable when measuring sticky or wetter materials. Dry clean compressed air at a maximum flow rate of 25 L/min is required for its operation.
